As the NFL National Anthem protest reached the NBA, some of its superstar players thought it is a convenient time for them to express their opinion. One of those players is Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James. On a press conference on Monday James said what he thinks about President Trump and his voters.
A reporter asked how he could criticize Trump when Ohio, his home state and the location of his current team, voted to help put Trump into office. James’s response to the question is being seen by some as deeply disrespectful. He took the opportunity to attack the “education” of Trump voters. LeBron called some of Trump’s voters “uneducated” and also mention that they did not understand what’s actually going on in the state of the world right now.
Woow… it is hypocritical when a really uneducated man labels and attacks people, some of them even his fans!
LeBron said: “I don’t think a lot of people was educated. And I think that’s one of the biggest problems that we have when it becomes vote time. People are just not educated, on either the individual or what’s actually going on in the state of the world right now. Not that particular state, but the state of the world.”
That awkward moment when an overprivileged, undereducated, and self-absorbed athlete tries to school his fan base as to how uneducated they are in possibly the worst grammar ever. The guy’s a great basketball player without a doubt, but this, well, it’s just an embarrassment. When he says uneducated, he must be referring to himself!
He added: “I don’t think a lot of people are educated, and they make choices and say things that’s uneducated. Am I saying that the people of Ohio wasn’t educated? Am I saying that some of the other states that voted for [Trump] was uneducated? They could have been, or they could not have been. But that doesn’t mean it was the right choice.”
LeBron proves that old Mark Twain saying: “It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt”.
This ‘eloquent’ interview displays exactly why these athletes really shouldn’t be allowed to affect the fans’ (or even possibly former fans’) opinions.
“I don’t think a lot of people WAS educated…” A guy who barely made it through high school because he’s good at basketball is claiming people aren’t intelligent by incorrectly using English. The irony. You were looking for the word “were.” Dumbass!
We voted for President Trump because he loves America and our flag!! He knows what our flag stands for, unlike those of you who bash it!! God Bless America and President Trump!
