The American majority is sick and tired of NFL players using the field as a platform to spew their political views. Disrespecting our flag and our anthem is not the way to protest nor the place to protest! We The People are pissed at the disrespect to our military and our country!
Some of NFL’s biggest sponsors are now regretting their decision to stand by NFL because they now suffer a huge loss because of the anthem protests!
We all remember when John Schnatter CEO of Papa John’s Pizza donated $1,000 to President Trump’s campaign and faced huge backlash because of that!
Today Papa John’s announced that it is pulling its advertising associated with the NFL, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell.
Per Jonathan Maze of Nation’s Restaurant News, Papa John’s founder John Schnatter said sales are down due to “negative consumer sentiment” regarding the company’s relationship with the NFL.
Schnatter also called the NFL “an example of poor leadership,” according to Maze.
A constant topic of discussion during the 2017 NFL season has been players’ decision to protest during the national anthem.
While the trend was started by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick last season, it has continued in 2017, especially since critical comments were made by President Donald Trump.
Sadly, I don’t think the NFL is remembering who pays their salaries. We do hold the power as fans. With tickets and merchandise and the sponsors catering to their sales…. best keep customers happy. The NFL will pay a price for disrespecting the country that made them rich.
