Greenland Space Force Commander Tried to Undermine Trump in an Email — What Happened Next Was Absolutely Perfect

Pituffik Space Base, Greenland – Space Force Col. Susan Meyers learned the hard way that undermining President Donald Trump’s agenda comes with swift consequences. On April 10, 2025, just hours after a Military.com report exposed her base-wide email distancing herself from Trump’s national security stance on Greenland, Meyers was relieved of her command at Pituffik Space Base. For conservatives, her firing is a textbook example of the Trump administration’s no-nonsense approach to insubordination—and they’re calling it “absolutely perfect.”
The controversy erupted after Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Pituffik on March 28, 2025, where he criticized Denmark’s management of Greenland, calling for greater U.S. control to counter Russia and China, per a Reuters report on March 30. Meyers, commander of the 821st Space Base Group, sent an email on March 31 to all personnel, including airmen, Guardians, Canadians, Danes, and Greenlanders, stating, “I do not presume to understand current politics, but what I do know is the concerns of the U.S. administration discussed by Vice President Vance on Friday are not reflective of Pituffik Space Base.” She added, “I commit that, for as long as I am lucky enough to lead this base, all of our flags will fly proudly—together,” a clear attempt to distance the base from Trump’s policy, as reported by Military.com’s Thomas Novelly.
The email didn’t sit well with the Pentagon. Department of Defense Chief of Staff Joe Kasper told Military.com, “Civilian control of the military is a bedrock principle of our armed forces. Actions to undermine the chain of command or to subvert President Trump’s agenda will not be tolerated.” By Thursday evening, Space Operations Command announced Meyers’ removal “for loss of confidence in her ability to lead,” with Col. Shawn Lee assuming command. Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell reiterated the hardline stance on X (@SeanParnellATSD), stating, “Actions to undermine the chain of command or to subvert President Trump’s agenda will not be tolerated at the Department of Defense.”
Conservatives on X, like @MAGAForce2024, celebrated the swift action: “Meyers tried to undermine Trump and got what she deserved—fired on the spot!” @PatriotPulse added, “This is how you enforce loyalty—Trump’s cleaning house, and it’s glorious.” The firing follows another high-profile dismissal earlier in the week: Vice Admiral Shoshana Chatfield was relieved as U.S. Military Representative to NATO for reportedly refusing to hang portraits of Trump, Vance, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, per a Defense One report on April 8, 2025.
Meyers’ ousting is a win for Trump supporters, who see Greenland as a critical national security interest amid tensions with Denmark, as Vance highlighted during his visit. A 2025 BBC report noted Pituffik’s strategic importance, located 750 miles north of the Arctic Circle, in countering Russian and Chinese influence. For conservatives, Meyers’ email wasn’t just a misstep—it was a betrayal of the chain of command, and her firing sends a clear message: in Trump’s military, you’re either with the agenda or you’re out. As @America1stMAGA put it on X, “Perfect justice—don’t mess with Trump’s vision!”

This is what happens when you get a DEI woman colonel with no experience what so ever to run a operation primarily operated by men
UCMJ Article 88, Article 89, Article 90 are all relevant in this matter. Bust her @ss to buck private and through in the stockade for a couple of months. Either you are a commander of troops or a leftist politician. If she wants to mouth-off, then she has to resign her commission first. The U.S. military must be purged. There is no place for personal political beliefs, neutrality and objective devotion to the mission must be maintained.
The Government just can’t help itself. It lies with every breath. “Loss of confidence in ability to lead”. That’s total gorgon shit! They fired her because they feared her leadership was TOO effective, not ineffective! If no one was listening to her, they’d have no problem. Of course, now no one is listening to her…AND they have no problem.
Government is like beer…it’s the cause of and solution to all the world’s problems.
Are we learning yet?
This lunatic idiot came up through the ranks during the woke policies of previous commanders in chiefs (CIC). She should have been brought up on charges of insubordination and a few other things. Loss of confidence in her ability to perform her duties is a PC way of slapping her on the wrist. Retired military here and this is ridiculous. She needs to be sent to the Galley to mop floors with a toothbrush and a bucket, and loose her retirement.
