Democrats Introduce New Bill To Ban Sales Of ALL Existing Semi-Automatic Guns
It becomes more and more clear every day that Democrat stupidity continues unabated! Now, they are presenting a bill that would make it mandatory for pistols sold by licensed dealers to stamp a code on the ammunition when fired.
Via Guns: “A dozen House Democrats are backing a measure mandating pistols sold by licensed dealers be capable of stamping a code on their ammunition at firing. Introduced as the Make Identifiable Criminal Rounds Obvious (MICRO) Act last month, the proposal would strip the ability of federal firearms licensees to sell pistols that do not carry the controversial microstamping technology. Backers argue that as much as 40 percent of murders go unsolved due to lack of evidence, which the bill is meant to address.
“We must do everything we can to ensure gun violence can be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” said the bill’s author, U.S. Rep. Anthony Brown, D-Md., in a statement. “Microstamping offers law enforcement the chance to track bullet casings to the source of the crime, and is one more step we can take to ensure the safety of the American people.”
Brown’s measure, entered as HR 3458, prohibits FFLs from manufacturing, selling, or transferring semi-auto handguns, unless they are capable of microstamping ammunition. Though California adopted a microstamping requirement as part of their 2007 unsafe handgun modification requirements, implementation was delayed until 2013 when California Attorney General Kamala Harris announced the technology had passed hurdles that kept it from being viable.
Two of the arguments against this particular measure is that it’s almost impossible to comply with the actual requirements of the California law and that even when you do comply, the results are lackluster.
Lawrence Keane, senior VP for NSSF, says that the “technology is unreliable, easily defeated and simply impossible to implement.”
According to Keane, the technology right now simply does not allow the imprinting of a legible, unique identification code on cartridge case heads.”
They will never learn. They are so concerned about losing control of the government they are reaching for straws to help keep the party afloat. Anything to draw attention. They play dumb but they know criminals wouldn’t walk into a gun store and buy from a licensed dealer.
However, putting an ID on a round does nothing but say which gun fired it. Most guns are stolen or sold and not to mention passed down over several generations. This will not tell you WHO fired it!
It would create a national registry to track who has what. This is dangerous for a government to have – and will eventually lead to abuse…
It also infringes more on the 2nd amendment which is there for a very good reason. Freedom is not free nor is it safe. If you can not deal with this, then maybe this country is not for you!
So, why not have a law on the books that would automatically start a recall of any politician that introduces a bill that blatantly violates the US Constitution. This way we could rid ourselves of stupid Democrats!

well some criminals are capable of manufacture their own ammunition, making this law stupid and pointless!!!
I am not “for” this at all, but a more better approach would be to include tiny non-flammable bits with an ID imprinted on them in the ammunition’s powder (or any smokeless powder), when fired, the bits would be discharged with the projectile and scattered around the area. The bits could made to glow under UV light making them easier to find. Each box of ammunition or manually loaded ammunition could then be traced back to its point of sale.
