Laura Ingraham Gets Sick of Juan Williams’ Trump Smears, Destroys Him on Live TV

Liberal commentator Juan Williams was part of the panel discussion segment on “Fox News Sunday” with host Chris Wallace, and like most other liberals in recent days, he issued several unsubstantiated smears against the men President-elect Donald Trump has already named to fill positions in his administration.

One of those men was retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, appointed as Trump’s National Security Adviser. Williams claimed Flynn is Islamaphobic and has ties to Russia. Williams called Flynn and others named by Trump — including potential defense secretary Marine Gen. James Mattis —  a “team of radicals,” according to Real Clear Politics.

But conservative pundit, Fox News contributor and unabashed Trump supporter Laura Ingraham, also a member of the panel, would have none of the baseless smears being tossed around by Williams and others, and didn’t hesitate to confront him over them when given the chance. She demanded specifics to back up Williams’ claims.

“But you said, ‘team of radicals,’” Ingraham reminded Williams. “This is the kind of stuff that has turned people against Washington, D.C.”

“And these type — this — these types of lines against true patriots, who sacrificed for their country, who are beloved among the men and women in the military, who actually do the heavy lifting for all of us,” she continued. “Mattis, General Mattis, is one of the most beloved Marines of the last 50 years. General Flynn is considered one of the pre-eminent intelligence experts of our age.

“To throw out these lines, a ‘team of radicals,’ that serves nobody’s interest,” she added, getting down to the point. “If you have a substantive disagreement with their approach to fighting terror or their approach to intelligence, that’s fine. But these blithe comments, I think, have poisoned political discussion in this country, and I think it’s exactly why people despise this city.”

Ingraham was absolutely correct in her assertion, and in light of the fact that she is reportedly being considered as Trump’s press secretary, this could very well have been a preview of what could be expected in the future as the Trump team pushes back against the biased and subversive liberal media narratives, something even the left-wing Media Matters seemed a bit concerned about.
