Ivanka Trump Was The Subject Of A Biting SNL Sketch!
SNL made a fake perfume ad for Ivanka Trump! She was the subject of a biting SNL sketch!
Saturday Night Live, or SNL, has taken aim at different members of the Trump administration including showing White House strategist Steve Bannon as the Grim Reaper and having press secretary Sean Spicer played by a gum-chewing Melissa McCarthy.
Last night was no different their target was president Trump’s daughter!
Host Scarlett Johansson played Ivanka in a perfect fake ad for a perfume called Complicit, “the fragrance for the woman who could stop all of this, but won’t.”
The sketch called out Ivanka for her role in her father’s administration and, very importantly, highlighted her agency: “She’s a woman who knows what she wants—and knows what she’s doing.”

Later in the now-viral commercial, the narrator asks, “A feminist, an advocate, a champion for women…But, like, how?
It ends with the voiceover line, “Complicit: the fragrance for the woman who could stop all this ― but won’t.”
Watch it below:
Ivanka is theoretically not a member of Donald Trump’s presidential administration, but she has attended multiple diplomatic meetings with him. She’s considered by many to be an influential voice behind the scenes at the White House. And her polished, poised, unthreatening-but-vaguely-feminist-if-you-squint persona helped sway the 51 percent of white women who voted for Trump in the general election.
But all the same, she’s not an official member of the administration. And she’s so elegant, so intelligent, so respectable. During campaign season, it was a popular liberal fantasy that Ivanka might be a sleeper agent, secretly sabotaging Trump’s presidential hopes from within.
