Hakeem Jeffries and House Democrats Discuss Firing Virginia Supreme Court Justices to Reinstate Their Radical 10D-1R Gerrymander — Here’s Their Desperate Plan
Democrats aren’t even pretending anymore.
After the Virginia Supreme Court correctly struck down their unconstitutional mid-decade gerrymander — the one that would have handed them a ridiculous 10-Democrat to 1-Republican congressional map — House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and his allies are now floating the nuclear option: fire the justices who ruled against them.
Yes, really.
According to a bombshell report, House Democrats have discussed lowering the retirement age for Virginia Supreme Court justices specifically to kick out the ones who blocked their power grab, then use the newly packed court to invalidate the redistricting rules and reinstate their stolen map.

This is banana-republic stuff. When the court follows the state constitution and stops Democrats from rigging the game, their response isn’t “respect the ruling” or “win at the ballot box.” It’s “remove the judges who dared to enforce the law.”
Jeffries himself called the Virginia Supreme Court’s decision “unprecedented and undemocratic” and vowed Democrats are “exploring all options” to overturn it. That now apparently includes targeting the judiciary itself.
This comes after Democrats poured millions into the referendum, bragged about the 10-1 map they were about to lock in, and celebrated what they thought was a done deal. Then the court stepped in and said no — you can’t bypass the constitution with a sneaky procedural trick. The ruling was 4-3 and crystal clear: the referendum was null and void because Democrats violated procedural requirements.
Instead of accepting the loss like adults, they’re plotting to purge the court.
This is the same party that spent years screaming about “threats to democracy” and “court packing” when Republicans played by the rules. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, they’re openly discussing court-packing-lite by manipulating retirement ages to get the outcome they want.
Meanwhile, President Trump and Republicans are winning the redistricting wars fair and square: Texas map upheld (+5 GOP seats), Tennessee new map (+1), Florida new map signed (+4), Virginia court victory (+4), and the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling weakening race-based maps opening the door to 15–20 more potential GOP seats nationwide.
That’s how you build a real majority — by winning in court and at the ballot box, not by trying to fire judges who disagree with you.
Democrats are showing the country exactly who they are: sore losers who will burn down every norm and institution to cling to power. They don’t want fair maps. They don’t want the voters to decide. They want permanent one-party rule, and they’ll destroy the independence of the judiciary to get it.
The American people see this desperation. They remember who actually respects the Constitution and who treats it like an inconvenience. That’s why the red wave is building, why Republicans are gaining ground in the House map wars, and why Trump’s America First movement keeps delivering victories.
Hakeem Jeffries and the House Democrats can plot all they want. The courts have spoken. The law is on the side of fair elections. And the voters are watching.
This isn’t a strategy — it’s a temper tantrum from a party that knows it can’t win without cheating.
