Despotism? Biden Set To Increase Gun Control With A Stroke Of His Pen – Here Are The Details

President Joe Biden has taken executive action to strengthen gun control measures. One of his key initiatives is the implementation of universal background checks, which he has stated will be achieved “as close to universal background checks as possible” without action by Congress.

The announcement is set to be made in Monterey Park, California. In January, 11 people were killed at a Monterey Park dance club — a setting that shows Biden clearly capitalizing on a tragedy to advance his agenda.

The idea of universal background checks has been widely supported by Democrats and many gun control advocates for years. The current system in the US requires background checks for gun purchases from licensed dealers, but not for private sales or transfers, including those at gun shows and online.

Biden’s executive order aims to close this loophole by tightening regulations around “ghost guns” – homemade firearms that are often untraceable – and stabilizing braces that can turn pistols into rifles. It also instructs the Department of Justice to draft model “red flag” legislation, which would allow family members or law enforcement to petition for the temporary removal of firearms from someone who is deemed a danger to themselves or others.

According to the White House fact sheet, “Background checks have been shown to keep guns out of the wrong hands, but too many states – including some that have enacted so-called ‘universal’ background checks – have not provided the background check records to make them effective.”

Opponents of universal background checks argue that they infringe on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens and could lead to a national gun registry. However, Biden has emphasized that the executive order does not create a national gun registry and that it is intended to enforce existing laws rather than create new ones.

The executive order has been met with mixed reactions, with many gun rights advocates and Republican lawmakers criticizing the measures as unconstitutional and ineffective. Some have also argued that the real solution to gun violence lies in addressing mental health issues and improving access to mental health services.

According to NBC News, the National Instant Background Check System carried out more than 31 million background checks last year.

An administration official providing an advance briefing said it is not known how many additional background checks would be done under the new order, according to NBC.

Gun makers are also in Biden’s sights. The order requires the Federal Trade Commission to “issue a public report analyzing how gun manufacturers market firearms to minors and how such manufacturers market firearms to all civilians, including through the use of military imagery.”

The order will also require agencies to speed up implementation of last year’s gun control act passed by Congress, and develop a plan for putting federal resources into communities in which a mass shooting has taken place.

Despite the opposition, Biden has made it clear that he sees gun control as a top priority for his administration. In a statement on the day of the executive order, he said, “Gun violence in this country is an epidemic, and it’s an international embarrassment.” By taking action to close loopholes in the background check system, he hopes to make it more difficult for dangerous individuals to obtain firearms and reduce the incidence of gun violence in the US.

“Biden has made it clear that he sees gun control as a top priority for his administration.”
This has been the Holy Grail of all leftist/totalitarian governments since guns were invented. The reason they want to control guns, and eventually confiscate them is so they can control the population. Hilter did this, Stalin did this, Austrailia did this, and on it goes. Removing guns does not remove violence, but it does make it easy for the government to order around its citizens with impunity.

Your article is extremely inaccurate. I’ve NEVER been to a gun show or bought a gun online that the FFL who the weapon was shipped to from the seller, do not run a NICS check. Private statewide gun sales are NOT subject to the background checks in many states but this is NOT where illegal guns come from. STOLEN guns are the choice of criminals. Check the crime stats from the FBI jackboots themselves. And while ur at it check out who the predominant race group is that commits the majority of violent crime in the USA.
