City Council Member Reveals Conversation He Had Last Week With Suspect In Mormon Church Terror Attack While Campaigning – He Reveals The Motive For The Attack (Audio)

In a stunning twist to the horrific attack on the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, a local city council candidate has come forward with chilling details from a face-to-face chat he had with the suspect just six days before the rampage. Kris Johns, running for Burton City Council, was out knocking on doors when he pulled up to Thomas Jacob Sandford’s rundown trailer on E. Atherton Road. What started as a routine campaign stop turned into a 20-minute deep dive into Sandford’s seething hatred for Mormons—a hatred that Johns now believes fueled the deadly shooting and arson that claimed at least four lives and left the church in ruins.

Sandford, a 40-year-old Iraq War veteran with a history of mental health struggles, allegedly crashed his pickup through the church doors during Sunday service on September 28, 2025, spraying bullets into the congregation before dousing the place in accelerants and setting it ablaze. Four parishioners perished—two from gunfire, others possibly trapped in the inferno—and authorities warn the toll could rise as they comb through the charred debris. Improvised explosives were also found on site, turning this into a full-blown act of domestic terrorism. Sandford was gunned down by police in a shootout, but not before unleashing hell on innocent worshipers.

Johns, speaking exclusively to The Gateway Pundit, recalled the encounter starting off friendly. He accidentally nudged Sandford’s mailbox while parking, but the suspect brushed it off with a laugh, showing no anger. They bonded over having special needs children—Sandford mentioned his son needed a G-tube. But things shifted when Sandford asked about guns. Johns affirmed his support for the Second Amendment, prompting Sandford to pivot: “What are your thoughts on Mormons?”

From there, it was all downhill. Sandford grilled Johns on Mormon tenets, the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, and Brigham Young, insisting the faith elevates people to Jesus’ level—which he called blasphemous. “Mormons are the anti-Christ,” Sandford declared outright, per Johns, emphasizing they’re not true Christians. He shared personal grievances: after his Marine stint and a drug problem, he moved to Utah to plow snow, met Miss Utah’s sister, and clashed with the church over his tattoos—they wanted them removed. Johns noted Sandford’s inked arms and his “more than common understanding” of LDS history, like how Smith died.

Politics? Not a whisper. Johns confirmed Sandford showed zero interest in ideologies, despite media attempts to paint him as MAGA based on a hidden Trump-Pence sign behind a STOP sign—likely a protest, not support. “He was NOT political,” Johns stressed. This aligns with ongoing probes, but Johns is convinced: 100% anti-Mormon bias, not Trump-related.

Shaken, Johns left a voicemail for his Mormon friend Mark in Orem, Utah, three days later, recounting the “tirade” from the ex-Marine who’d ranted about the Church of Latter-day Saints. In the 43-second message, Johns describes knocking on Sandford’s door and hearing him blast Mormons as the anti-Christ, urging his pal to call back.

Johns has since briefed the FBI and Michigan State Police, hoping his insights help. As a conservative fighting for his seat, he never imagined that polite voter would weaponize his truck into a “missile” against believers. This tragedy underscores the rising tide of anti-Christian attacks—over 400 on U.S. churches this year—fueled by unchecked hatred, not politics. President Trump called it right: end this epidemic now. Pray for the victims, their families, and real justice.

No, Mormons aren’t the anti-christ. That “person” has to be revived from physical death, publicly.
Mormons have “different” belief structures, which are fine as they don’t terrorize innocents, attack women, and act like this!
Nope, just the love of man growing cold at the end of the age. One of the birth pangs.
