Washington, D.C. – In a fiery appearance on Fox News’ The Five Tuesday night, Elon Musk dropped a bombshell that has sent shockwaves through the political and corporate worlds: he knows who’s behind the escalating attacks on Tesla, and the Department of Justice is coming for them. “We’re coming for them,” Musk declared, his tone leaving no doubt that the tech mogul—and close ally of President Donald Trump—means business. The revelation comes amid a wave of violence targeting Tesla dealerships and owners, which Musk and the Trump administration are now labeling as “widespread domestic terrorism.”
The attacks have intensified in recent weeks, with incidents ranging from arson in South Carolina and Las Vegas to a brutal assault on a 61-year-old Tesla driver in Arizona. Just last month, the Justice Department charged Paul Hyon Kim, 36, in connection with a Las Vegas arson at a Tesla collision business, where he allegedly set vehicles ablaze and fired gunshots. Attorney General Pam Bondi warned then that “anyone who participates in the wave of domestic terrorism targeting Tesla properties will suffer severe legal consequences.” Now, Musk is taking it a step further, vowing to go after the masterminds—or as he called them, the “generals”—behind the chaos.
“I think what we actually have to get to are the people organizing and paying for these attacks and protests,” Musk said on The Five. “The people who are actually throwing the Molotov cocktails—they’re the foot soldiers, but we need to go after the generals, and we’re going to do so.” When panelist Kennedy Montgomery pressed him, asking, “Do you know who those ‘generals’ are?” Musk didn’t flinch. “We do. We’re coming for them,” he replied, adding a chilling warning: “These are serious crimes where the organizers and pushers of mass violence will go to prison for a very long time. I hope they see this segment.”

Musk’s comments align with the Trump administration’s aggressive stance. Both President Trump and AG Bondi have signaled that the DOJ is treating these attacks as organized criminal enterprises, potentially invoking RICO charges—a legal tool typically reserved for dismantling mafia-style operations. FBI Director Kash Patel has also launched a task force to investigate the violence, which has been linked to a decentralized movement called #TeslaTakedown. Conservative activist Asra Nomani recently exposed 24 Democrat-aligned organizations, with a combined budget of $124 million, allegedly fueling the anti-Tesla campaign. While Musk didn’t name names, he hinted that the public will soon learn the truth.
“This is fundamentally a case of terrorism,” Musk said, his frustration palpable. “It’s widespread domestic terrorism with the purpose of intimidation, and it’s harming innocent people. Tesla’s done nothing wrong as a company.” The attacks, which some speculate may be retaliation for Musk’s role in Trump’s administration—particularly his work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—have drawn sharp condemnation from the White House. Trump himself labeled the violence as domestic terrorism on March 11, vowing that perpetrators would “go through hell.”
With the DOJ now circling and Musk’s blunt warning reverberating, the “generals” behind the Tesla attacks may soon find themselves in the crosshairs of justice. For Musk, Trump, and their supporters, this is a fight they’re ready to take to the end—and they’re not backing down.
