Peyton Manning was playing golf with President Trump Sunday at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Va. The golf round happened around the same time that Trump sent out a series of tweets about the London terrorist attacks.
“Shortly after Sunday’s third tweet, Trump left the White House and was driven to his private golf club in Northern Virginia. Despite requests, aides provided no information on his activities during several hours at the club. Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., the Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman, and former NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, both wearing golf attire, were seen getting out of the motorcade and leaving the White House after Trump returned,” reports Darlene Superville of the Associated Press.
CNN reporter Allie Malloy Tweeted at 1:20 p.m., “Peyton Manning and Sen. Corker joined POTUS at Trump Intl Golf Club today. Golf clubs spotted- no word on day’s activity from WH.”
The five time MVP NFL quarterback and Republican senator left the White House after Trump had taken a four-and-a-half-hour tour at Trump’s national Golf Club.
President Trump headed towards the club at 8 am right after he tweeted three times regarding the situation in London right now.
The White House press pool, which surrounds the President every time, was kept in the dark about what Trump was doing at the Virginia Golf Club.
However, reporters captured moments of Manning and Cooker upon the motorcade’s return to the White House, which was around mid-afternoon.
The NFL legend predominantly stayed away from politics throughout his career. But after his retirement, it was rumored that he might run for senator of Tennessee in 2020!
