Thomas Massie Takes 30+ Hours to Drop Heavily Lawyered Statement — But He Still Won’t Deny the Allegations

Thomas Massie finally broke his silence after more than 30 hours.

The Kentucky congressman released a carefully worded, lawyer-reviewed statement responding to the explosive allegations from his ex-girlfriend Cynthia West. She accused him of pressuring her into deviant sexual behavior shortly after his wife of 31 years passed away, getting her a congressional staffer job, then firing her and offering her $5,000 cash (and later a reported $60,000 settlement with NDA) to stay quiet when she refused.

Axios already confirmed the settlement and NDA are legitimate. West also claimed Massie threatened her in person at a Cracker Barrel.

Here’s what Massie finally posted:

> “It’s sad that a week before this election people are making false and unsubstantiated allegations about me in an obvious attempt to influence the outcome of this election. All of the claims of inappropriate conduct are false. I’ve never offered anyone money in exchange for their silence. I report all of my farm income, including cash, to the IRS. There are no ethics claims filed against me, nor have there ever been any claims filed against me in my 14 years in office. I have consulted legal counsel and we are considering all options.”

Notice what he did deny: the bribe for silence and any ethics complaints on file.

Notice what he didn’t deny:
– Sliding into Cynthia West’s DMs just two months after his wife died.
– Pressuring her into sexual acts she says made her extremely uncomfortable.
– Getting her a taxpayer-funded congressional staffer job.
– Firing her after she rejected his advances and spoke out about Rep. Victoria Spartz hiring a non-citizen for a district director role.
– The $60,000 settlement and NDA that Axios already verified.

He also didn’t address the timing of his quick remarriage to a much younger staffer around the same period.

This is classic Washington damage control — a heavily lawyered non-denial denial that picks and chooses which parts to address while hoping everyone moves on.

Massie built his entire brand on being the loudest voice demanding transparency, especially on Epstein files and government corruption. He positioned himself as the ultimate anti-swamp fighter who calls out everyone else for lack of integrity. Now, when the spotlight is turned on him, the response is a delayed, carefully parsed statement that leaves the most damaging allegations untouched.

Cynthia West has been consistent from the beginning. She refused the money, refused the NDA, and went public anyway. She says she was fired after speaking up about a non-citizen hire — hardly the “America First” stance Massie claims to champion.

Whether you like Massie’s voting record or not, this story is a problem. Voters have a right to expect basic personal integrity from their representatives, especially ones who lecture the rest of us daily about ethics and transparency.

The man who screamed the loudest for full disclosure on Epstein is now hiding behind legal language and hoping the story fades. That’s not how this works anymore. The public is paying attention, and the details keep getting worse.

Massie says he’s “considering all options.” So is everyone else watching this unfold. The allegations are serious, the settlement is confirmed, and the silence on the core claims speaks louder than the statement he finally released.

This one isn’t going away.

C’mon. You are being silly. He said that “all of the claims of inappropriate are false.” It does not get any clearer than that. He did deny the claims that his former girl friend made about forcing her into deviant sex. It is just a matter of reading what he said rather than construing things in the way you wish to smear the man.

All the politicians hire their friends/relatives as ‘aides’ & pay them thru their allotted ‘office operational expenditures’. Angry Maxine Waters hired her daughter to stuff envelopes in her district office @ over $100K a year and I don’t see the ‘Ethics Committee’ doing anything (do they ever). They also take ‘paid’ vacations, while calling them ‘foreign fact finding missions’, to get around the rules on what they can spend their office cash on.
Must be nice to vote yourself pay raises and benefits that your little people work to pay for.
As for Massie, I don’t know what to make of this one – Is he another Mitch the turtle McConnell, or just your average wild card rino?

The questionable claims are that he was behaving like a democrat, so that’s the real question.
