A gunman has died after opening fire yesterday morning on members of Congress practicing for a charity baseball game in Alexandria, Virginia, injuring Rep. Steve Scalise, R-Lousiana, a congressional staffer and two Capitol Police officers.
The suspect died from his injuries sustained in the shooting, President Donald Trump said in his remarks this morning.
President Trump has already addressed the nation as of Wednesday morning.
But that’s not all from our president he also visited the wounded house majority whip Scalise in the hospital where he receives a treatment.
The Louisiana lawmaker’s recovery is going to be “much more difficult,” Trump said at a White House event, adding, “He’s in some trouble. He’s a great fighter and he’s going to be OK, we hope.”
Trump and first lady Melania Trump visited Scalise in the hospital late Wednesday, according to a pool report.
It’s been much more difficult than people even thought at the time,” Trump said of the treatment of Scalise, the No. 3 GOP leader, who is in critical condition at the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Trump visited the Louisiana congressman at the hospital Wednesday night, and Vice President Mike Pence paid a visit Thursday morning.
“Steve in his own way may have brought some unity to our long-divided country,” Trump added. “We’ve had a very, very divided country for many years. And I have a feeling that Steve has made a great sacrifice, but there could be some unity being brought to our country. Let’s hope so.”

Actions speak louder than words. Thank you, President Trump, for caring about those who serve this country in so many ways.
This is why I, along with millions of others, highly respect, love and give our loyalty to this man who shows us the same loyalty, love, and respect. God bless our president, vice president, Secretary Tillerson, Attorney General, Dr. Carson and their families and all the other members of the president’ cabinet who gave up so much to serve their country.
