One Of The NFL’s Biggest Sponsors Considers Ending NFL Sponsorship Over Anthem Protests!

The NFL is now at the epicenter of the culture war. A backlash against traditional American culture is taking the shape of mass protests by NFL players taking a knee during the National Anthem. Conservative Americans are retaliating by delivering the NFL historically low ratings.

As the NFL’s Week 4 kicked off, the New Orleans Saints took a knee during the coin toss but stood for the anthem. Meanwhile, across the field, three members of the Miami Dolphins took a knee during the playing of the national anthem.
They continue to disrespect the national anthem and it seems that the NFL is facing huge backlash because of it!

First, the fans started to boycott them and now it seems that the sponsors started to abandon the sinking the ship!

Anheuser-Busch is reconsidering their NFL sponsorship, likely because the protests are very unpopular among everyday Americans. Bud Light currently serves as the official beer of the NFL.

The company also released a statement:

These are complex issues that require in-depth discussions and nuanced debate. What I can say is that at Anheuser-Busch we have a long heritage of supporting the institutions and values that have made America so strong. That includes our armed forces and the national anthem as well as diversity, equality and freedom of speech. We proudly employ over 1,100 military veterans and we work every day to create an inclusive environment for all of our employees. Because only together can we achieve our dream of bringing people together for a better world.

Since the company established the hotline and began to promote it, they have been bombarded with calls. According to KTVI-TV, the hotline went down Friday afternoon after receiving too many calls, but as of Sunday afternoon, the hotline is back up.

I 100% agree.. There will be purchase of any products in my household that sponsors the (N)FL.. I can not even call it National Football League.. because it is not representing the Nation.. It is disgrace full, to our country our founding fathers.. those who fought so hard in 1776 to keep that flag up going.. those who put our declaration up, our bill of rights up.. I have a whole list of sponsors with numbers if anyone cares to see them.. Just go to Boycott NFL and Sponsors on facebook.. Enough is enough and those who sponsors them are not all American to me.. We stand united as one under on nation before that flag.. and that flag has nothing to do with race!!! A bullet, or explosive of any sort in battle does not see race.. it only see’s American..

Bud should not sponsor any team that is protesting against America. They are taking a knee to support Colin Kaepernick, whom took a knee for his Muslim girlfriend. There is a proper place for protest and while getting paid millions to play a game is not the place. They need to take there money and use it for what ever they are protesting.

This is not a complex issue or issues. This is about being disrespectful to the men and women who have died to keep us free and the great people of this country who remember and honor that scarifice. You either honor that or you show no respect to the fallen and the great American people who do remember their scarifice. It’s not a hard decision. As a matter of fact it’s a no brainier.

Our national anthem, and the American flag are symbolic to this country and our constitution including our first amendment right to free speech. And these players taking a knee in Protest have created a oxiMORON. They are protesting the the very constitution and the first amendment. Yet our President Trump speaks out and tells owners to fire these disrespectful overpaid players. Well Trump has the same freedom of speech, yet he is chastised for his comments. But know this. Your continued sponsorship will prevent me from ever purchasing your product. I hav already stopped with pepsi. Stand tall. Please

We strongly urge you to withdraw your sponsorship of the NFL! If these young, ungrateful, ignorant overpaid athletes truly want to make a difference, they could be contributing some of their millions/ efforts to help veterans, service people, flood/hurricane victims or medical research. By withdrawing your sponsorship, you would send a very important message to the liberal media who has had the most to gain from stirring this mess and this hate! They, especially. need to be held accountable for the wrong messages that they are perpetuating. Thank you!

This has gotten out of control. Most people have forgotten how it even got started. The Media is thriving on it. Our international enemies are loving it as our wonderful country is falling apart. Why? We will all feel at one time or another that we have been discriminated against. That is part of life. Get over it. We should be working together. Helping each other. I will not knowingly patronize any NFL sponsors. These big boy players need to grow up. They make more in a year than many people do working 40 years. They are brainwashed. They could do so many positive things to help people. Instead they kneel!???? Enough. American public is tired of hearing about this

Kudos to AB-Bev for standing up against the national anthem protest. Yes, players have a right to protest but their protest should not include disrespect for our nations most precious symbol of freedom. Protest outside the confines of the playing field. After all, they are paid performers on a public stage many times paid for by federal funding. They are suppose to be rollmodels to our kids…their actions are disgraceful.

I have also noticed some players not having their hand over their heart and generally goofing off and not showing respect to our Flag during the National Anthem. That is not good either. If the players are going to be on the field during the playing of the National Anthem, they should show respect to our Flag.

They came back in caskets. It was a tramatic time for all but for the young it was a tragic life lesson. I am a Viet Nam veteran and I support any and all boycotts of the NFL and its sponsors. Period. The players are allowed to play even with accusations of drug abuse and possession, beating women, illegal gun possession, and now they think they can get away with disrespecting the American Flag? They should not only be kicked out of the NFL, they should be told that if they ever want to play football again they have to join the military and serve overseas.

Many NFL players are a bunch of overpaid criminals. They should be in jail but because they are “valued” players, they are not. There is not one of them worth what they are paid. They have the privilege of performing in front of an audience and make a ridiculous amount of money. Yet they are oppressed! Give me a break. Most of these whiners won’t make a pimple on a soldiers ass. If they think they have it so bad, join the service, sissies. You won’t make it through boot camp. They don’t like whiners. There are some good men involved in this sport as well but they are being “oppressed” by the whiners. Intimidated so they go along with the kneeling B.S. Suspend every team that has had kneelers on it. Or better yet, just disband the NFL. I will purchase nothing that supports the NFL.

I just posted this on the Dolphins FB Fan Page:
    Mr. Ross,
I’ve been a Dolphin fan since before the great ’72 Dolphins became undefeated, I even represented and wore the uniform for the Dolphins in 1976 as a 12 year old Punt, Pass and Kick participant, reaching the semi-finals in Houston Texas; but I’ve been an American Patriot longer than that and until you take a stand and defend our flag and anthem from your disrespectful players – I will no longer follow, cheer for or watch any more Dolphin games. My country and the respect to my flag comes firstI
I fought for this country during the Gulf War and I continue to protect this country through the work I do. But since you and your organization cannot have the backbone to take a stand against direct disrespect for the flag and country I would die for, then I cannot respect your organization. Every player has the right to protest, but they do not have a right to disrespect our anthem and flag – protest in some other way.

All members of the NFL from the owners on down should read this and then
tell us why their “employees” are not bound by this ruling.
Disrespecting our flag should have major consequences, instead in the name
of “sports” we allow this disgraceful show of disrespect to go on because it’s
their right. SHAME ON THEM AND SPORTS WORLD THAT SIDE WITH THEM.

“The specific NFL rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the league rulebook. It states: The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. “During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

As an immigrant citizen who has served in the U.S. Army, the flag and national anthem have special meaning to me. While I served in peace time, I have several friends who served in Vietnam and in the Gulf war. My adoptive father was also a three time recipient of the Purple Heart in World War II, as a Marine on the island of Pellileu. It saddens me to see such disrespect of our flag and anthem. The NFL monopoly has made a total mess of holding their employees to the very rules they set in place. I think big sponsors like Budweiser should make a stand and let the NFL know that patriotism is strong and alive in our major companies!

From Franco Harris, “I would of beat the hell out of lap for what he did”, the guy was offered a contract and turned it down. So what are they protesting. Let me guess they are protesting the fact that African Americans get extra points on federal exams, oh yea equality. Oh I’m sorry, they are protesting the 32% of black people shot by cops verse the 67% of whites shot by cops, equality. I’m not racist at all, if there gonna protest, protest some actual facts.

Everyone is making a big deal over this kneeling. It has nothing to do with the flag or the anthem. It is about all men and women be treated equally. Donald Trump has done it again by making a non issue a big deal while he tries to gets everyone’s minds off the real things he is pulling. I grew up in St. Louis and have always been an fan of Bush and all things connected with the company. A more American company you will not find. These football players are well within the rights to sit, or kneel. If you look at Congress, many Congressmen and women do not stand. Everyone is complaining about lack of jobs in the United States, well what do you think if they do this and sales go down and they are forced to lay off people. What has this accomplished? So in answer to your question: NO DO NOT PULL YOUR ADDS AT FOOTBALL GAMES. I do not expect that many people will agree with me as it is easier to follow than to step out for what you truly believe.

Of course you should withdraw your sponsorship! These guys just want your money. They are not thinking about people who support them, the companies that sponsor them, their country and those who fought for their freedom. Yes, we all have the right to free speech. But football is their job. Let them kneel to or protest something else, on their free time. Maybe they should protest idiots who use military weapons to kill innocent people. But, during the football games they are paid to play. More sponsors should withdraw their
support, also. The sponsors will make more money with that decision.

I am currently boycotting the NFL not watching a single game. I enjoyed football college football’s good but the NFL was always a different level. I will no longer watch while they disrespect our flag and our anthem. They are making a choice to make an issue that is dubious on its own rights. They haven’t shown consistent evidence that black Americans who obey the law are overly subjected to harassment by the police. Yes it happens but it happens to white people too. So with that said I would hope Budweiser would pull their support of the NFL till they stop this disrespect.

You guys are disgusting!!! Our flag stands for our country and our freedom, and everyone who appreciates this will ALWAYS stand for our National Anthem. I will support Budweiser’s decision to pull their ads from any sports league who refuse to stand for our National Anthem. When this affects their paycheck, they should realize how the American citizens feel. Go for it Budweiser! Pull the plug on these jackasses. You can put your money somewhere else. Football is my favorite sport. The Patriots is my favorite team. I am done with the NFL. As a Vietnam veteran, this type of protest is akin to spitting in my face, just as dissenters did when I returned from the war. The NFL is loyal to the almighty dollar, and the sponsors have much more power than one disillusioned veteran. Maybe an all American company like Anheuser Busch can send a much more powerful message than one solitary veteran. I applaud Anheuser Busch for even considering sending the league a message.

For many years Bud Light has been my choice of adult beverages, but the first day of the NFL protest it was brought to my attention that you were one of the NFL sponsors, so I switched beers beginning that day. Yes, all Americans may have a voice. And we all know the athletes’ “take a knee” stance is not unconstitutional, nor illegal. However, during our national anthem is not the time, nor the place, and we true Americans are disgusted at the disrespect being shown to our flag, country and military. My dad was a WWII, 100% disabled veteran, and I know, without a doubt, that he is rolling over in his grave right now. These poor, little NFL athletes are claiming to be oppressed and victims of inequality. Seriously????? I hope our American soldiers decide to have a protest of their own because they should be feeling pretty oppressed and unequal after comparing their salaries to these athletes. Make our country and our military your priority and not NFL.
