Mike Pence attended Super Bowl 51 in Houston today — an event that was already designated as a major national security event that will be protected by several federal and local law enforcement agencies.
No word on which team Pence was cheering for … but it’s obvious his boss is ALL ABOUT the Patriots.
But what is very important is one fact that shows just what kind of a person is our new VP!
Patriots fan and White House press secretary Sean Spicer was with Pence. But also joining him at the game were two disabled soldiers.
Not only are they meeting the Vice President, but they are getting to go to THE football game of year in a suite and root on their respective teams (one member is a Patriots fan and the other is a Falcons fan).
This is exactly the type of man Pence is… selfless. Everything I have ever seen or heard about the man has him putting others before himself.
A small token but also a noble and worthy gesture on the part of the vice president.
Honored to welcome on Air Force 2, as our guests to the Super Bowl LI, two American heroes ??who were injured in the global war on terror. pic.twitter.com/e75GlS9ctY
— Vice President Pence (@VP) February 5, 2017
He characterized the special trip as a ‘small token of the gratitude of the people of this country.’
He added: ‘We’re honored you’re with us,’ The Hill reported.
Pence flew Marine Staff Sargeant Anthony Mannino, Jr, and Army Staff Sargeant Frederick Manning aboard Air Force Two.
Mannino, who was wounded in Iraq in 2008, brought his wife Diane while Manning, who was injured in Afghanistan in 2016, brought his nurse, Army Sargeant First Class Charles Stanley.
As promised, our president and this administration are putting the brave men and women who sacrifice everything for this country first. And it’s about time!
