CNN Sympathizes With Career Criminal Who Murdered Iryna Zarutska — While Ignoring Suspect’s Chilling Words After Killing Her (Videos)
CNN has officially entered damage control mode after the brutal murder of Iryna Zarutska on a Charlotte light rail. Instead of focusing on the cold-blooded nature of the killing or the system that let a violent repeat offender roam free, the network bent over backwards to show sympathy for the suspect and to scold conservatives for daring to talk about it.
During a reaction segment, Van Jones went after Charlie Kirk and other commentators, accusing them of “racial hate mongering” and insisting there was “no evidence” the murder was racially motivated.

But the evidence speaks for itself. Surveillance footage appears to capture the suspect, Decarlos Brown Jr. — a man released from jail 14 times thanks to soft-on-crime policies — proudly declaring after the murder:
“I got that White girl, got that White girl.”

That chilling admission directly undercuts CNN’s narrative. Either Van Jones doesn’t know the facts, or worse — he knows them and is deliberately lying to shield the truth from viewers.
This is the pattern we’ve seen over and over again: the media and Democrats rush to protect the criminal, even when the criminal openly admits what they did and why. Meanwhile, the victim — in this case, a young woman brutally taken from her family — is reduced to a political inconvenience.
CNN would rather lecture Americans about their tweets than admit the obvious: woke judges, failed Democrat policies, and a broken justice system enabled a career criminal to walk free long enough to commit murder.
Iryna Zarutska deserves justice — but the media refuses to even tell her story honestly.
