Chuck Schumer Posts Picture of a Barbecue Fail and Is Ratioed So Hard He DELETES It (But We Have a Screenshot)
US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was eager to take on grilling duties for Father’s Day but found himself under fire from social media critics questioning his barbecue skills. The Brooklyn-born senator posted a cheerful photo on X (formerly Twitter), showing himself in front of a grill with burger patties and hot dogs, smiling broadly.
Schumer shared his excitement, tweeting, “Our family has lived in an apartment building for all our years, but my daughter and her wife just bought a house with a backyard and for the first time we’re having a barbeque with hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill! Father’s Day Heaven!” Despite the heartfelt message, online commenters quickly turned up the heat, scrutinizing his grilling technique, especially pointing out that a piece of cheese appeared to be placed on a patty prematurely.
He deleted this photo but we have a screenshot:
Admitting his inexperience, Schumer reiterated, “Our family has lived in an apartment building for all our years,” and expressed his joy at finally having a backyard barbecue at his daughter Alison’s new home.
However, his post didn’t sit well with some grill enthusiasts, and the 73-year-old Democrat was thoroughly roasted on social media. Comments ranged from light-hearted jabs to more pointed critiques. One user quipped, “Remember this the next time you hear someone brag about their Harvard degree.” Another commented, “King Charles is more likely to know how to make a cheeseburger than Charles Schumer, and I am sure the King has no clue.” A third critic added, “Yeah, but he can sure grill taxpayers.”
Despite the backlash, Schumer’s enthusiasm for the family barbecue shows that these people act like aristocrats.
It seems that the Dems can’t cook for themselves!
The Senate leader is far from the first politician to face a roasting for an unaccomplished display at the grill.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul was mocked for tweeting a picture of herself in a spotless white outfit as she gingerly held a spatula with an uncooked burger on the end of it at an August barbecue in 2022.
But Schumer, who is the country’s highest-ranked Jewish elected official, also faced religious blowback for transgressing the prohibition on eating meat with cheese.
‘I love you Chuck, but the cheese in the burger was just not necessary,’ tweeted Rabbi Elchanan Poupko.
‘It’s pretty basic Jewish practice to avoid mixing meat and dairy.’

Thank God his daughter will not be reproducing.
