WOW! #BlackLivesMatter Protesters Who Blocked A Virginia Highway Sentenced To JAIL TIME

Blocking highways is one of the preferred forms of protest by members of the Black Lives Matter movement. It’s also incredibly dangerous and stupid.

It certainly doesn’t endear anyone to their cause, it just makes people angry.

Some of them did this on a highway in Virginia over the summer and were arrested. Now they’ve been sentenced to jail time. It’s not long but it’s something.

The Daily Caller reports:

BLM Protesters Who Blocked Highway Get Jail Time

Activists associated with the Black Lives Matter movement will see the inside of a jail cell after blocking a highway during a protest in July.

The Richmond, Va. protest, which falls into a long line of recent race-related protests and riots, occurred on July 18, and was likely set off by the police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile that month.

Thirteen protesters blocked Interstate 95 and chanted “Black Lives Matter!” and “No justice, no peace, no racist police!” They shut down traffic during rush hour, but not for long, as police showed up and made arrests within an hour.

They all pleaded guilty to illegally blocking traffic Monday and were sentenced to five days in prison.

Perhaps if the penalty for this was more than five days in jail, people would do it less.

Just a thought.

Five days was not enough time. A year of weekend jail time would have been more appropriate. One of these folks was a student who was excused from beginning his or her sentence because of exams. That person should have missed the exams and began serving his or her time. The cause for the protest didn’t seem to matter to these people. If it had they would have realized that endangering the lives of others by blocking an interstate highway was counter productive and could possibly have resulted in a horrible tragedy. Fortunately these folks were arrested. Many of the protesters were college students. If they had college loans those loans should be revoked. Wrong is wrong and “stupid is as stupid does”.

5 days is enough for the ones that have never been to jail before. Betcha they won’t block a highway again. 5 days is like eternity for a first timer.

How about the ambulance driver who posted that because of being blocked by the BLM people, he lost a patient they were trying to rush to the hospital. That should come under 2nd degree manslaughter.
