Video: Chris Cuomo’s Fiery Apology to Trump Over Media’s Dismissal of Assassination Attempt Sparks Hope That More People Are Waking Up

In a stunning turn of events, Chris Cuomo delivered a heartfelt and impassioned apology to former President Donald Trump during Monday night’s broadcast of his show Cuomo. The apology comes after the media’s dismissive reaction to the second assassination attempt on Trump’s life within the span of just two months. Cuomo, a former CNN anchor and typically no fan of Trump, chastised both the press and political figures for downplaying the severity of the incident.

Opening his monologue, Cuomo made it clear that this was no minor incident. “What if it was your father? Or what if it was Kamala Harris or President Biden? God forbid,” Cuomo said, drawing attention to the hypocrisy of those shrugging off the attempt on Trump’s life. “He had an AK-47 pointed at him,” he reminded viewers, criticizing those who dismissed the incident simply because no shots were fired.

Cuomo’s impassioned response comes in the wake of Sunday’s attempted assassination at Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course. Ryan Wesley Routh, the would-be assassin, was apprehended after Secret Service agents noticed him positioning a scoped AK-47 through the course’s shrubbery, a mere 300 to 500 yards away from Trump. This marks the second such attempt on Trump’s life, the first having occurred at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, just two months prior.

What makes Cuomo’s monologue so significant is his willingness to call out his own colleagues in the media and across the political spectrum. He criticized the indifference to the event, highlighting the lack of urgency in the response to an attempt on the life of a former president and current 2024 presidential candidate. “The reaction is unacceptable,” Cuomo declared, condemning the political players who downplayed the attack for partisan reasons.

Cuomo didn’t stop at just the media. He also called out Elon Musk for posting a now-deleted tweet that questioned why no one has attempted to assassinate Biden or Harris. “Elon Musk – I’m a believer in this guy’s potential… but what he said is stupid,” Cuomo fired, slamming the billionaire for making light of a situation that should be taken seriously. Cuomo expressed disappointment in Musk, saying, “He could be leading the way to a better dialog in our society.”

Even more surprising, Cuomo revealed he had called Trump directly after the attempt to check on his well-being. While Cuomo didn’t mince words about the former president’s own rhetoric, he acknowledged Trump’s frustration over the constant attacks from the Democrats. “Trump blames the Democrats and their attacks on him as a threat to democracy for the violence directed toward him,” Cuomo said, but he urged Trump to avoid the same kind of language. “If it’s wrong that they’re threatening him that way… why would he call them that?”

In his scathing critique, Cuomo also called out the lackluster response from Biden and Harris, who issued only perfunctory statements condemning political violence. “It is just as troubling to me to hear fake concern by our sitting president and almost nothing from the Democrat who wants to lead us about what happened with Trump,” Cuomo said, pointing to the shallow nature of their responses.

As Trump recovers from this second assassination attempt, the security around the former president remains a pressing issue. Many are questioning why Routh was able to position himself so close to Trump before being spotted by the Secret Service. After the near-fatal Butler, Pennsylvania incident, scrutiny has mounted over the agency’s ability to protect Trump, especially considering his status as a key figure in the upcoming 2024 election.

While the media and political elites may continue to downplay the incident, it’s clear that some, like Cuomo, are beginning to recognize the gravity of the situation. The question remains: Will this wake-up call be enough to shift the narrative, or will the mainstream continue to brush off attempts on Trump’s life as inconsequential?

For now, Cuomo’s apology stands as a rare and poignant moment of truth from a figure once aligned with the left. Trump supporters will no doubt appreciate the sentiment, but the real test will be whether this marks a shift in how the media handles the increasingly dangerous political climate surrounding the former president.

If you want to see the reasons for the assassination attempts, just look at the democratic/socialist/communist left’s rhetoric. Democratic celebrities, news people, even congress people and senators have openly called for Trumps murder. And yes I hope when he’s re-elected, he’ll set up a commission to identify and prosecute all the open traitors and those guilty of criminal actions…including election interference. The democratic/socialist/communist left has set precedent in the courts by ignoring executive immunity, so maybe he can “drain the swamp” a little bit.
