Man Sees Soldiers Eating On The Floor At Airport, Spends $20k To Buy Them Dinner

When a California businessman saw some U.S. troops eating field rations at an airport, he offered instead to buy them an expensive hot meal — all 400 of them.

Shlomo Rechnitz was on his way to Israel in mid-November when he met the soldiers during a layover at the Shannon airport in Ireland.

According to Fox News:

“A California businessman on layover at Ireland’s international airport thought things looked “lopsided” when he saw a group of 400 U.S. troops sitting on the floor eating out of paper bags, while civilians dined at fancy bistros.

So he decided to do something about it.

“I figured, I want to make the picture look a little better, and offered them $50 apiece to go to those restaurants and have a warm meal on me,” Shlomo Rechnitz said on “Fox & Friends.”

Rechnitz also offered words of appreciation for the soldiers. A video of that has gone viral, picking up over 400,000 views.”

Our troops do so much to keep us all safe and secure while they are serving in our military. They often risk their lives on our behalf. What’s even more courageous is that each one takes that risk on voluntarily.

This is why it is such a shame when you see them being treated poorly, having to eat worse meals than the Americans citizens whom they keep free.

It is lovely to see another patriot doing his part to support our troops and increase their standing in our country.
It is often not enough to simply thank service men and women for their service. Although they do appreciate it, I think we need to go the EXTRA mile when we can, just like this businessman did.
