If You Thought the Obama Library Was Ugly, Just Wait Until You See the Cringe Merch They’re Selling

The Obama Presidential Center is finally set to open next month after years of delays, massive cost overruns, and local protests. The building itself looks like a gray, dystopian blob that Obama personally pushed the architects to make “bold.” Most people just call it ugly.

But the real punchline is the merch they’re now hawking to the public.

Take a look at this lapel pin that’s supposed to represent the Center. It’s a gray, lumpy, shapeless thing that looks like someone stepped on a wad of chewed gum or a third-grader mutilated an eraser.

They’re charging **$30** for it.

The Obama Foundation’s website says the pin “represents the intersection of bold design and global leadership,” and that proceeds go toward “inspiring, empowering, and connecting people to change their world.” Of course they do.

The reactions online have been brutal and hilarious. People are comparing it to toothpaste, a pregnancy test, and random blobs of nothing. One person wrote, “It looks like chewed gum or an eraser that a third grader has been mutilating.” Another asked, “How is that even uglier than the actual building?”

The building and the pin really are a matched set — both overpriced, both disappointing, both screaming “we spent way too much money on this.”

Obama was deeply involved in the design. The architects admitted he kept pushing them to be bolder, even drawing over their sketches himself. The result? A $850 million+ monstrosity that took over a decade to build and still looks like a rejected sci-fi set piece.

Obama  library:North Korean guard tower:

Now they’re trying to sell $30 gray blobs to fund more of the same “change” that defined his presidency.

This is peak Obama-era hubris. The man who lectured the country endlessly about hope and unity built something that looks like a North Korean guard tower crossed with a parking garage, then slapped an overpriced pin on it and called it leadership.

The whole project has been a festival of failure from day one — massive budget overruns, community backlash, and now this embarrassing merchandise. If the pin is any indication, the “bold vision” Obama demanded just turned out to be expensive mediocrity.

Americans are not impressed. The mockery is well-earned. When your signature legacy project looks like this and your merch looks even worse, maybe it’s time to stop calling it bold and start calling it what it is.

Bush, Obama and Trump added $31 trillion to our debt….neither deserve any form of ‘shrine’ in honor of them. All in only 26 years, it’s criminal. By the time Trump leaves office in 2028 our debt will be $48 trillion.

Ugly just like the Obamas themselves.

Trump is building a sorely needed ballroom (with private funds, a GIFT!) that will remain an asset to the nation for decades. Obama built a basketball court with taxpayer money.

Pretty much sums up the two presidents. While Obama will be remembered as the first black president, Trump will be remembered WORLDWIDE as a truly historic POTUS.
