Airbnb Rented by Bourbon Street Terrorist Goes Up in Flames—Resident Shares Details on Local TV (VIDEO)

A rental property linked to Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the suspect behind the New Year’s Day terror attack on Bourbon Street, was engulfed in flames early Wednesday morning. The incident, which occurred in the St. Roch neighborhood of New Orleans, prompted law enforcement and bomb squad units to respond immediately.

Local sources, including NOLA.com, revealed that the Airbnb was being rented by Jabbar, who is believed to have been inspired by ISIS. President Biden addressed the nation, confirming Jabbar’s ties to the terrorist organization and revealing that the suspect had shared his intent to kill on social media just hours before the attack. Authorities also discovered an Islamic State flag in the rented vehicle Jabbar used to drive through a crowd, killing 15 people and injuring over 30 others. Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found at the scene, with indications that they may have been manufactured at the Airbnb.

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill stated that investigators are confident the Airbnb fire is directly tied to the terror attack. “It appears this location was being used as a bomb-making site, and we have reason to believe others may have been involved,” she explained. The FBI has since initiated multiple court-authorized search warrants across New Orleans and other states to uncover possible co-conspirators.
