Absolutely MASSIVE’: Bombshell Drops About Second Trump Assassin Plot — And the Ukraine Connection Is Wild

West Palm Beach, FL – A bombshell court filing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida has revealed chilling new details about Ryan Wesley Routh, the man charged with the second assassination attempt on President Donald Trump on September 15, 2024. According to the filing, submitted on April 7, 2025, Routh attempted to purchase a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) from an individual he believed to be a Ukrainian arms dealer, with the explicit intent to shoot down Trump’s campaign plane—a plot that underscores a shocking Ukraine connection and raises questions about international security failures.

Routh, 58, allegedly used an encrypted messaging app to communicate with the supposed Ukrainian asset in August 2024, just a month before he was spotted with an SKS-style rifle at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach. The filing, reported by RealClearPolitics’ Susan Crabtree (@susancrabtree) on X, details how Routh expressed frustration over the failed July 13 assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, where Trump was shot in the ear, Corey Comperatore was killed, and two others were injured. “I wish,” Routh reportedly said of the near-murder, before outlining his own plans. “Send me an RPG or stinger, and I will see what we can do,” he wrote, adding, “[Trump] is not good for Ukraine.” He even sent an image of Trump’s campaign plane, noting, “Trump’s plane, he gets on and off daily.”

The correspondence wasn’t idle chatter. Routh discussed specifics—price, shipping logistics, and how weapons often “disappear” in war-torn Ukraine—indicating a serious intent to acquire the RPG. “I need equipment so that Trump cannot get elected,” he told the contact, per the filing. The revelation has conservatives on X, like @MAGAForce2024, reeling: “This is absolutely MASSIVE—Routh was plotting with Ukraine to take down Trump’s plane?!” Others, such as @PatriotPulse, questioned how Routh accessed Trump’s golf course just weeks later: “How does someone this dangerous get within 300 yards of the President?”

The House Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump, in its December 2024 report, revealed more disturbing details. Routh had been in his shooting position since 1:59 AM, while Trump arrived at the course around 11:00 AM. A Secret Service agent fired six shots at Routh from point-blank range—missing every time—but the report praised the agent for “averting a disaster” by firing in his “general direction.” At the time, only 300-500 yards separated Routh from Trump, who was golfing with Steve Witkoff.

Routh, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted assassination, assaulting a federal officer, and firearms violations, faces life in prison if convicted. His trial is set for September 8, 2025, with prosecutors now using the Ukraine plot to argue his clear intent to kill Trump. For conservatives, the Ukraine connection—amid ongoing U.S. military aid to the country, totaling $61 billion since 2022, per a 2025 CNN report—raises red flags about foreign interference. “This isn’t just about Routh,” wrote @America1stMAGA on X. “It’s about who else might be involved.” As the trial looms, the Ukraine angle has turned an already shocking case into a geopolitical firestorm.

We’ve known about the “Ukraine connection” since the day after Routh was arrested.
