Ratcliffe Being Ratcliffe: CIA Director Drops One Hell of a Boss Move Against the Cuban Regime — Details Emerge

CIA Director John Ratcliffe just reminded everyone why he’s one of the most effective players in the Trump administration.

While President Trump was in China about ten days ago, Ratcliffe made a surprise trip to Cuba. The CIA publicly posted photos of the meeting with Cuban leaders (with some faces blurred for security), but the real story was what happened behind the scenes.

Ratcliffe delivered a clear message from Trump: the United States is ready to engage on economic and security issues, but only if Cuba makes fundamental changes. That alone would have been significant. But Ratcliffe took it a step further with one hell of a power move.

According to CBS reporting, Ratcliffe brought along the paramilitary officer who was directly involved in the mission to capture former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro earlier this year. He then made a point of introducing that officer to the Cuban officials as the man responsible for killing several of their security personnel who were protecting Maduro.

Here’s who first broke the news:

It was a deliberate, in-your-face signal. Cuba had long provided Maduro with a Cuban security detail because he couldn’t trust his own people. Losing those operatives in the raid was a serious blow. Ratcliffe made sure the Cubans knew exactly who was sitting across the table from them.

This comes on top of other heavy pressure the U.S. is applying. The Justice Department has an active indictment against former Cuban leader Raúl Castro, and there have been growing protests in the streets of Cuba against the regime’s failures. On top of that, the USS Nimitz carrier strike group is currently operating in the region. While that deployment was planned, its presence sends an unmistakable message.

If the Cuban regime isn’t getting the hint that real change is being demanded, they’re not paying attention.

Ratcliffe’s move was classic hard-nosed intelligence work — no weakness, no empty talk, just a clear demonstration of strength and resolve. It fits perfectly with the America First approach: pressure adversaries, protect U.S. interests, and force bad regimes to either reform or face consequences.

The world is shifting fast right now. Cuba has been a communist outpost for decades, but the combination of internal unrest, economic collapse, and this kind of direct U.S. pressure could mark the beginning of something much bigger.

The Trump administration isn’t playing games. They’re sending signals that the old rules no longer apply, and Ratcliffe just delivered one of the loudest ones yet.

You Cubans were prosperous until Castro shut down the casinos and killed everyone who complained. Okay, you’ve had your little commie experiment, now would you like to stop enjoying poverty and feel like partying again? Hmmm?
