Michael Shannon, the intense character actor who has developed a reputation as a very poor man’s Jack Nicholson, apparently lives up to his nasty reputation in real life. In a recent interview, the Hollywood star all but said he would rather every Trump voter die than actually accept the election results.
In an interview with Metro, Shannon said liberals should shun relatives who supported Trump, and said that if you were a Trump voter, “it’s time for the urn.”
The Hollywood actor, best known for his roles on “Boardwalk Empire” and as General Zod in the 2013 Superman film “Man of Steel” made the remarks during what was supposed to be an interview to support his new movie, “Midnight Creatures,” directed by fashion designer Tom Ford.
When the topic turned to Trump, Shannon said, “Basically this man is probably going to destroy the earth and civilization as we know it. It’s kind of terrifying.”
Speaking of the whole “accept the results” rhetoric from the left, Shannon also believes that “Civil War II: Electric Boogaloo” is preferable to a peaceful transfer of power to a Trump administration.
“I’m so glad these kids on the campuses everywhere are going ape s***, but at the end of the day, the guy’s still going to be president,” Shannon said, “Maybe you need a civil war or something.”
Yes, Trump’s apparently going to destroy the entire world, so it’s up to us to preemptively destroy our country. One hopes that when Mr. Shannon’s days in Hollywood are over, he does not consider going the way of Messrs. Ronald Reagan and Al Franken.
That would have been far enough for most people, but then Shannon decided to go further.
“There’s a lot of old people who need to realize they’ve had a nice life, and it’s time for them to move on,” Shannon said. “Because they’re the ones who go out and vote for these a*******. If you look at the young people, between 18 and 25, if it was up to them, Hillary would have been president. No offense to the seniors out there. My mom’s a senior citizen. But if you’re voting for Trump, it’s time for the urn.”
When the interviewer said his parents had voted for Trump, Shannon said, “F*** ’em. You’re an orphan now. Don’t go home. Don’t go home for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Don’t talk to them at all. Silence speaks volumes.”
Cut all ties with your parents, if you can’t send them to the afterlife. The wit and wisdom of Michael Shannon, ladies and gentlemen.
Looking at his remarks, one surmises there might be other reasons to question the wisdom of suggesting that a candidate’s supporters might be better off in the crematorium, but this is neither here nor there. The point is that Shannon has said anyone who voted the way he didn’t is better off dead.
It’s quite amazing how little faith the left seems to have in democracy when it fails to go their way. They protest, they riot, they make disgusting comments like Shannon did, and they all pretend they’re doing it in service of a greater good.
If Shannon wants to see us die, let’s make sure his movies die at the box office. Please like and share on Facebook and Twitter if you agree.
