First daughter Ivanka Trump is definitely making a difference. She stood strong through the campaign trail, the election and dealt with many challenges since then. She is never rude, or anyway, obnoxious or pretentious, and presents herself to the world as an excellent example of proper accomplishment in the USA.
But, sadly, we are all forged with challenges in life. With each challenge, we grow mentally and emotionally. And the strong ones are those who have been through the storms and survived.
In a new interview with Dr. Mehmet Oz during a taping of “The Dr. Oz Show, Ivanka brought the country to tears when she revealed that she struggled with postpartum depression after giving birth to each of her three children.
The first daughter said: “With each of my three children I had some level of postpartum … depression. It was a very challenging emotional time for me.”
“I felt like I was not living up to my potential as a parent, or as an entrepreneur, or as an executive,” Trump said. “I had had such easy pregnancies that in some ways the juxtaposition hit me even harder.”
After she said this, she faced the camera and addressed to the viewers with a powerful message of hope to all women in the world who have been afflicted by this horrible disorder.
“It’s incredibly important and looks, I consider myself a very hard-charging person,” Ivanka said. “I am ambitious, I’m passionate, I’m driven, but this is something that affects parents all over the country.”
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately one in nine women experiences postpartum depression.
Postpartum depression is real, and it’s good Ivanka is making it a public issue. It’s a very common disorder and we really don’t give it the proper sort of detection. Just imagine what it’s like for a single mother working 2 jobs without health insurance wondering how she’s going to make rent and car payments and child care.
Such bravery to let women know they’re not alone!! Thank you, Ivanka, for coming forward, and thank you for your patience, understanding, and integrity.
