Conservatives cherish what is sacred. The other half of the country is trying to destroy what is good.
On Thursday, White House chief of staff John Kelly spoke at the White House press briefing following uproar over Democratic Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson’s attacks against the president.
Kelly said: “I was stunned when I came to work yesterday morning and brokenhearted at what I saw a member of Congress doing.”
“What she was saying, what she was doing on TV. The only thing I could do to collect my thoughts was to go walk among the finest men or women on this earth.”
Kelly also said that presidents don’t usually call the next of kin of fallen troops and that he actually recommended Trump not to call. “If you elect to call a family like this it is the most difficult thing you can imagine. There’s no perfect way to make that phone call. [Trump] called four people the other day and express his condolences in the best way he could and he said to me, ‘What do I say?’”
The retired general confirmed what Mr. Trump had alluded to publicly this week: that former President Barack Obama had not called him after Lieutenant Kelly was killed.
“That was not a criticism, that was simply to say I don’t believe President Obama called.”
Mr. Kelly expressed his frustration over the fact that the conversation between Mr. Trump and Sergeant Johnson’s widow was exposed to the world by Ms. Wilson, a friend of the family, who was in the car with the family when the president’s call came in.
“It stuns me that a member of Congress would have listened in on that conversation. Absolutely stuns me. And I thought at least that was sacred. You know when I was a kid growing up a lot of things were sacred in our country. Women were sacred, looked upon with great honor. That’s obviously not the case anymore as we see from recent cases. Life, the dignity of life, was sacred. Religion, that seems to be gone as well. Gold star families, I think that left in the convention over the summer. I just thought the selfless devotion that brings a man or a woman to die on the battlefield, I just thought that might be sacred,” Mr. Kelly said.

Well said Gen. Kelly… Brought tears to my eyes knowing that he lost his son in combat and had to explain the process when one of our own dies! Unfortunately, this military hating congresswomen clown doesn’t see anything as sacred.
To take away from that very personal phone call and make it political is just wrong!! This congresswoman should be ashamed of herself. Can’t imagine how she got elected. It is people like her who make the Democrats look bad. They keep trying to undermine the president and will use any situation (no matter how painful to the family of our fallen soldiers).
She hates Trump and used this to try and make him look bad. Shame on her for putting her feelings above the good of the country and the family he called.
