Donald Trump Will ‘send in the Feds’ If Chicago Doesn’ ‘fix’ Its Rising Gun Violence

President Donald Trump vowed Tuesday night in a tweet to send “the feds” to Chicago if the city does not address its longstanding plague of violence.

Trump had criticized the city’s gun violence problem and Mayor Emanuel’s handling of it while on the campaign trail.

“You don’t often see the National Guard getting federalized and getting deployed, and there’s all sorts of reasons for it, not the least of which is that they can step on the toes of locals and there has be to be very good coordination.

It’s usually only done in the most extreme circumstances,” said ABC7 Legal Analyst and former federal prosecutor Gil Soffer.

Soffer also said it’s not clear what Trump meant by “the Feds.” He is authorized to send in the National Guard, as well as to increase federal funding to programs to combat violence in the city

The city’s crime statistics and use of the word “carnage” (which the tweet includes in quotes) were used on “The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News and appeared on the presidential Twitter feed moments later.

A statement from the Chicago Police Department on Tuesday night said the city’s law enforcement would welcome an interagency effort.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel already discussed federal assistance with Trump when he met with the then president-elect at Trump Tower in Manhattan on Dec. 7.

Emanuel made a pitch when they talked for federal assistance to boost police hiring and youth mentoring programs that he hoped will stop a 50 percent surge in homicides and shootings.

Chicago Police Supt. Eddie Johnson told the Sun-Times on Tuesday night, “the Chicago Police Department is more than willing to work with the federal government to build on our partnerships with DOJ, FBI, DEA and ATF and boost federal prosecution rates for gun crimes in Chicago.”

So Trump made one of his beast tweets since day one:

“If Chicago doesn’t fix the horrible “carnage” going on, 228 shootings in 2017 with 42 killings (up 24% from 2016), I will send in the Feds!” Trump said.

We approve this tweet because we all want to have state rights but Chicago is a war zone and things have to change!

Americans need to feel safe again everywhere!

Trump will drain the swamp as he said share if you support him!
