North Korea has a reputation of behaving badly for decades. Knowing that the former President Obama was soft and was all talk but no action, the North Korean leader Kim Jong is taking some wrong steps apparently thinking that it will be the same with our new president Donald Trump.
But what happens when Donald Trump proves to be all action?
This is why, on Thursday, President Donald Trump signed an executive order that significantly expanding sanctions on the rogue North Korean regime. The order would enable the United States to sanction individual companies and institutions that finance trade with North Korea. The move comes just days after Trump threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea if forced to defend the U.S. or its allies.
President Trump introduced this order during a working luncheon with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and South Korean President Moon Jae-in
He said: “The new executive order will cut off sources of revenue that fund North Korea’s efforts to develop the deadliest weapons known to humankind.”
Trump added that the new order “significantly expands our authorities to target individuals, companies, [and] financial institutions that finance and facilitate trade with North Korea,” and said the U.S. also would work to identify “new industries, including textiles, fishing, information technology and manufacturing that the Treasury Department can target with strong sanctions.”
The order targets key industries, as well as essential shipping networks.
“For much too long, North Korea has been allowed to abuse the international financial system to facilitate funding for its nuclear weapons and missile programs. The United States has had representatives working on this problem for over 25 years, and they have done nothing,” the president told reporters.
“That is why we are in the problem that we are in today, in addition to, frankly, other countries not doing what they should have done,” he added.
Trump announced that tolerance for this practice must end now.
The Department of the Treasury now has the authority and discretion to sanction any foreign bank that knowingly conducts business with North Korea. “Foreign banks will face a clear choice: do business with the United States or facilitate trade with the lawless regime in North Korea,” Trump said.
“It is unacceptable that others financially support this criminal rogue regime,” he said.
The president pointed that the order targets only one country: North Korea.
“This new order provides us with powerful new tools. But I want to be clear, the order targets only one country. And that country is North Korea,” said Trump. “I must tell you that this is a complete denuclearization of North Korea that we seek. We cannot have this as a world body any longer.”
Trump praised China’s central bank for ordering that banks in China stop conducting business with North Korea.
I am so proud we have a strong President leading our country. President Trump is the only one that actually does something at all when it comes to North Korea! Trump is doing everything he can do to stop them. Either these sanctions work (and this takes time) or they don’t work.
It is refreshing to have a President that is a strong leader and is for the good of the country. Obama was a spineless failure who repeatedly worked toward dividing the country. But, unfortunately, anytime Trump does something good for America or the world the pile of Liberals freaks out!
Little do they know that We the Real Patriotic Americans are behind Trump all the way!
