The political world is still rocking from the release of almost 20,000 Democrat National Committee emails by Wikileaks that showed that the DNC tried to rig the primary for Hillary Clinton. Now, it appears that hackers have been at it again. Reuters reported that a computer network utilized by the Clinton campaign was breached by hackers, but it was unclear how far into the system the hackers were able to get.
The Clinton campaign has once again blamed Russia for this hack (with no actual proof, of course, but since when has that ever stopped them?) and claimed that only an analytics program used to keep track of donors was compromised.
“Our campaign computer system has been under review by outside cyber security experts. To date, they have found no evidence that our internal systems have been compromised,” stated Nick Merrill, a Clinton campaign spokesman.
Somehow it’s tough to believe anything the Clinton campaign says when it comes to emails or servers.
This hack came only days after Republican nominee Donald Trump sarcastically “asked” Russia to release the 30,000 missing Clinton emails to the public, which caused unwise liberals to accuse him of treason. (It’s only treason if the missing “personal” emails contained national security information, which Clinton has vehemently denied.)
Yahoo News reported that back in March, the FBI tried to warn the DNC and the Clinton campaign of hacking attempts. The FBI requested “internal computer logs as well as the personal email addresses” to investigate the attempted hacks, but the Clinton campaign refused.
It’s almost like they were hiding something …
This latest attack did not access Clinton’s private server, at least that we know of. However this attack does show that the DNC does not take its cyber security seriously, and is paying a heavy price for it.
If they can’t even be bothered to protect their own information, why should the American people trust them to protect our national secrets from our enemies?
