This is America and we need only to abide by the constitution and what this country was founded. That is why there is no need to pass a bill that would require only American laws for American courts! However, with all those Muslim migrant in our country, going around and demanding things of this country that they would NEVER GET IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY we must be extra careful!
Luckily this week, the Arkansas House of Representatives passed a bill that would require “American laws for American courts,” essentially making it illegal for any religious law to be applied in the court. Of course, liberals are outraged at the measure.
The bill would prohibit the application of foreign laws in an Arkansas court when the application of a foreign law would result in the violation of a fundamental right guaranteed by the Arkansas or U.S. Constitution. HB-1041 directs judges in the state’s courtrooms to use only American-based laws when they make decisions. The measure passed in the House on Monday by a landslide.
The bill was introduced by Rep. Brandt Smith of Jonesboro, who filed a similar bill in 2015 that passed in the House but died in a Senate committee.
“I’m just trying to say, let’s get out ahead of something before we have to work on cleanup after the fact,” he said.
Even though this bill does not mention Sharia law by name, it would forbid law that “in whole or in part” relies on foreign law that “does not grant the parties such as fundamental rights, liberties and privileges granted under the Arkansas Constitution or the U.S. Constitution,” including due process, equal protection, freedom of religion, speech and press, the right to privacy and the right to bear arms.
It was about time. Those people that think they can change our laws to suit their own need. No matter what religion or beliefs you need to adapt. If you live in America you must live by American rules and laws.
Way to go Arkansas! Now let’s see 49 more doing the same.
