Bernie Sanders’ legions of fans won’t fall in line behind the Vermont senator’s expected endorsement of Hillary Clinton, according to Donald Trump.“Bernie Sanders, who has lost most of his leverage, has totally sold out to Crooked Hillary Clinton,” Trump tweeted Tuesday. “He will endorse her today – fans angry!”
The presumptive GOP nominee has long suggested that it is his populist message, not Clinton’s Democratic one, that will resonate with Sanders fans in the general election.
“I am somewhat surprised that Bernie Sanders was not true to himself and his supporters,” he wrote minutes later in a second tweet. “They are not happy that he is selling out!”

Sanders is expected to endorse Clinton at a rally Tuesday in New Hampshire after an extended primary battle that transformed into a fight over the substance of the Democratic Party’s platform.
The Manhattan billionaire’s campaign sent an email to supporters Tuesday morning ahead of the New Hampshire rally, listing the “top five reasons Sanders supporters will never be excited about Hillary Clinton.” Among them, the Trump campaign listed Clinton’s support for trade deals and her ties to Wall Street and the “D.C. establishment” as reasons why the former secretary of state won’t be able to earn the support of Sanders’ followers.
