Jill Stein: The Revolution Must Continue With The Green Party Not With Hillary Clinton

“the rising has ended but the revolution has just begun” (attributed to a leader of the Easter Rising in Ireland as he was lead away to be executed) We need to use the momentum created by the political revolution of 2015/16 to build the Greens into a viable option. If they had been this year, Bernie would not have had to declare himself a Democrat. This is why we need to support Jill Stein and the Greens. As Jill Stein said today the political revolution must continue with The Green Party not with Hillary Clinton because she was never a fan of Sanders and his ideas as she is pretending at the moment!

The recent primary season has made one thing very clear: Bernie never had a real chance in the decrepit and corrupt Democratic Party. However, if he wanted to make an impact, he had no choice but to make a go of it with the Democrats. Had he gone with any other third party polling at under 1%, he would have been totally ignored. But if the Green Party had been polling at better than 15% (the level set by the corporate controlled media to allow a candidate to take part in televised debates- and a very doable goal this election season), the media would have had to take notice. And I have absolutely no doubt that Sanders would win a three way as a Green.

And I have absolutely no doubt that Sanders would win a three way as a Green. Clinton would be a distant third. He’d get 60% (at least) of the independents, 40% of the democrats and 10% of the republicans- giving him about 45% of the vote with trump getting 30% and Clinton 25%. (Worth noting that slick willie won his first term with only 43% of the vote.) We need to follow up on Bernie’s vision for America by building the Greens into the “second major” party, replacing the Democrats as the “other” major party. This is the only viable way forward; the only way to put a true progressive in the White House in 2020. As Bernie himself has often said: this movement isn’t about him- and never has been- it’s about us. Bernie doesn’t have the power to change things- we do.

He may be concerned about his future effectiveness in the senate (if he does not support Clinton, he will be completely ignored in the senate) BUT WE have to be concerned about the very survival of life on the planet as we know it. Sanders may (or may not) desert the cause, but we can not. The democratic party is a dead horse, completely under the control of the oligarchy; it can not be “reformed”. Lip service is all that the Clintons will give to the “political revolution”. she is a center-right neoliberal. she can not and will not go against her corporate masters. There will be no “reform” of the Party- they will continue to nominate center-right neo-liberals- just as they have for the last 40 years. In this time of rapidly changing climate, with life on the planet at stake, the Greens are the way forward. time to support a REAL revolution. vote your conscience, not your fears. I suggest you vote for a true progressive, Jill Stein (the other woman running for president).
