A PIP petition is “asking the Green Party of the United States, the Democratic Socialists of America, the Progressive Democrats of America, and the Sanders campaign and supporters to join forces to create a unified voting block to propel Bernie Sanders into the White House as president or VP, or at least help many more progressive candidates enter the Congress. Americans have, for decades, sought out alternative measures to voting for a Democrat or a Republican in local, state, and national elections. This has certainly been an effective strategy in many cases. Hell, look at Bernie Sanders. He’s a lifelong Independent who is now beating Hillary Clinton in national polls while running as a Democrat. Because he had to. Running Dem was the only way he could even debate or get on the ballot in more states than you would think. But with the largest progressive voting block behind Bernie, he will be in more states than we could imagine!
Sanders’ campaign and volunteers have arguably built one of the largest and most effective grassroots progressive organizations in recent history. How exactly to capitalize on the energy surrounding the campaign and mobilize the social media community remains the million-dollar question for groups hoping to push Sanders’ policy platforms during the next administration. This voting bloc would be the perfect solution for every Bernie Sanders supporter since the political platform of Bernie and other parties in this voting bloc is more similar than we can imagine. From our recent poll on this topic, we can see that more and more people will support this idea. With Jill Stein from the Green Party also supporting this idea than we are in for a very interesting elections in November
